Our client is the largest global automotive seating supplier, with 75,000 employees operating in 230 manufacturing / assembly plants in 33 countries worldwide, producing and delivering automotive seating for all vehicle classes and all major OEM’s. From complete seating systems to individual components, their expertise spans every step of the automotive seat-making process.

We now have an exciting opportunity to recruit for a Sales Manager to be based at their site in Coventry. You will be responsible for a key automotive account and therefore will be based out of Coventry with the need to travel North and South of the UK as and when required.
The Role

• Responsible for all sales activities in regards to customer programs.
• Investigate on further potentials and customers on UK market for performance car seating.
• Acquire new business.
• Set up quotations and order negotiations in cooperation with engineering, costing, purchasing and operations.
• Yearly negotiations with the customers.
• Prepare presentations/Salesforce CRM.
• Sales reporting.
• Build and manage customer relationships and support the customer information flow.
• Support active communication of potential improvements / innovations regarding products and pro-cesses (towards customer and internally).
• Responsible for all sales activities in the region.
• Collaborate regarding customer group sales strategy.
• Reflect customer expectation and needs to Pre development / Innovation Team.
• Based in the west Midlands. Reporting into European Office.

Candidate Requirements

• Ideally University degree qualified or equivalent in Economics, Business or Engineering would be desirable.
• Excellence in sales and / or commercial program management within manufacturing.
• Long term automotive experience, either Tier 1 or Tier 2 is a must.
• Understanding of Japanese OEM’s (advantageous).
• Willingness to work in international teams.
• Good technical understanding of components or systems aligned to the automotive sector.
• Robust financial skills.
• Fluent English language essential, other languages are an advantage.
• Ability to proactively interpret emerging customer needs and communicate competitive positioning and product gaps to the organisation.
• Assertiveness and strong negotiating skills.
• Knowledge of brand value and development.

The successful post holder will be expected to travel on company business in the UK and Europe as and when required.
